Medical firm Turkish exports to 80 countries

Turkish firm Doratek Medical exports medical products to 80 different markets, specializing in orthopedic plates and screws and focusing primarily on spinal and brain implants since it was founded in 2008.

Selin Aric, the firm’s co-owner, told Anadolu that in 2020, when she took over, Doratek exported to some six destinations, but that figure has now risen to 80 thanks to investments, while the product portfolio began with 1,000 items and has since ballooned to 10,000.

“We put in the effort to make health products that weren’t being produced here to be made via domestic means,” she said. “We aim to make ‘Made in Türkiye’ products be chosen worldwide.”

Aric emphasized that Doratek Medical successfully passed necessary inspections under the European Commission's strict regulations for the medical sector, even as many firms in Europe have been shut down for failing to meet standards.

“We stood out from other countries by maintaining our CE certification and continuing investments – we got the Europe’s Best Orthopedic Product Manufacturer 2025 award from MedTech Outlook Europe, making Doratek Medical the first company in Türkiye to be so honored,” she said.

“We produce custom-made products for two major European and American companies, having established ourselves globally with major brands,” she added.

Aric said Doratek manufactures two patented products for orthopedics and spinal surgery, and that the firm is working to establish a new production facility by year’s-end to relocate its entire production line to "an area that is around five times larger and more technologically advanced" than the previous one.

“We will also acquire two new companies and transition to a group firm – this will allow us to incorporate our research and investments in biological product manufacturing to contribute to our existing portfolio,” she said.
