Attack leaves assailants dead, with 6 injured in shooting in front of courthouse complex
Pakistan “strongly” condemned the terrorist attack targeting a courthouse complex in Istanbul on Tuesday.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to the brotherly people and government of Türkiye and pray for the swift and complete recovery of those injured in this heinous attack," the Pakistani Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families, “ it added.
Islamabad reaffirmed its “resolute solidarity with Türkiye in its fight against scourge of terrorism.”
After the attack that left six people injured, including three police officers, Türkiye's Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said in a social media post that it was a terrorist attack targeting a checkpoint outside Gate C of the courthouse.
He identified the assailants by their initials, E.Y. and P.B., a man and a woman, and said both were members of the terror group DHKP-C.
Meanwhile, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said one of the people injured in the attack had died, but gave no further details.
