President Erdoğan’s daughter marries in Istanbul

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's daughter, Sümeyye Erdoğan, has married Selçuk Bayraktar, a defense industrialist engineer producing unmanned aerial vehicles.
The wedding ceremony was held at the Yahya Kemal Beyatlı Cultural Center in Istanbul's Küçükçekmece district on Saturday.
Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu was the bride's witness, while army chief Hulusi Akar for the groom.
Around 6,000 guests were invited to the ceremony, which was held under high security measures.
Due to the occasion, some roads in Istanbul were closed to traffic and additional barriers were put up around the wedding hall in Küçükçekmece.
Sümeyye Erdoğan studied sociology and politics at Indiana University in the United States (US) and has a master's degree from the London School of Economics.
Baykar, the company run by Selçuk Bayraktar, Özdemir Bayraktar and his two brothers, has been developing unmanned vehicles both for the Turkish military and other countries.
Selçuk Bayraktar graduated from Istanbul Technical University in 2002. He holds master's degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
He also holds a PhD from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
