Turkcell and Google Cloud to establish new data region in Türkiye

Turkcell has announced a major collaboration with Google to deploy a dedicated Google Cloud region inside Türkiye, marking a significant advancement for the country's digital economy. The initiative, backed by a projected $1 billion investment from Turkcell by 2032, is designed to provide local businesses with enhanced cloud services and infrastructure.

Strategic Investment and Timeline

The partnership entails Turkcell developing the necessary infrastructure for the cloud region, with operations scheduled to commence between 2028 and 2029. This long-term venture is set to substantially expand Turkcell's data center capabilities and solidify its position as a key driver of technological modernization in the region.

As an official Google Cloud partner, Turkcell will also function as a reseller, distributing these services across the Turkish market. The collaboration is intended to support organizations of every scale in accelerating their shift to cloud-based solutions, thereby unlocking new potentials in data analytics, cybersecurity, and application development.
