False news reports had said long-term mandatory military service would be extended from 12 months to 18

The Turkish military on Friday denied rumors inaccurately saying that the term of long-term mandatory military service would be extended from 12 months to 18.

“Reports of the extension of military service are totally baseless. Such news reports are untrue,” said the Turkish General Staff in a statement.
