Turkish president heads to Kazakhstan for Turkic summit

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has departed for Kazakhstan to attend the Informal Summit of the Organization of Turkic States in Turkistan and hold high-level talks on strengthening bilateral cooperation with Kazakh President Tokayev.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan left for Kazakhstan on Wednesday to attend a summit of Turkic states and engage in high-level diplomatic talks in the Central Asian nation’s capital, according to diplomatic sources.
Summit and bilateral meeting in Turkistan
At the invitation of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Erdoğan will take part in the Informal Summit of the Organization of Turkic States in the historic city of Turkistan. He is also expected to attend a meeting titled “Astana-Ankara: From brotherhood to a pragmatic Eurasian alliance,” aimed at further deepening bilateral cooperation between Türkiye and Kazakhstan. Erdoğan was seen off at Ankara’s Esenboğa Airport by Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz and Ankara Governor Yakup Canpolat.
High-level delegation accompanies president
Joining Erdoğan on the visit are First Lady Emine Erdoğan, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, National Education Minister Yusuf Tekin, National Defense Minister Yaşar Güler, Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Trade Minister Ömer Bolat, AK Party Deputy Chairman Kurşad Zorlu, Communications Director Burhanettin Duran, and Chief Foreign Policy and Security Adviser Akif Çağatay Kılıç. Türkiye continues to strengthen its ties with Turkic republics, viewing the Organization of Turkic States as a key platform for economic, cultural, and political integration across the Turkic world.
