Following a National Security Council meeting, Türkiye has called for Israel to immediately cease attacks breaching the Gaza ceasefire. Ankara declared its readiness to take on responsibilities in stabilization and reconstruction efforts in the region.

Türkiye has issued a firm demand for Israel to immediately halt its attacks that violate the Gaza ceasefire and to fulfill its international obligations. The declaration came from the Turkish National Security Council following a high-level meeting chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the Presidential Complex in Ankara. The council further stated that Ankara is prepared to assume responsibilities within international mechanisms aimed at ensuring lasting stability and contributing to reconstruction efforts in Gaza.

Regional Stability and Counter-Terrorism Focus

The council's comprehensive statement also reaffirmed Türkiye's ongoing support for the peace and security of the Syrian people. Domestically, the meeting included detailed briefings on the country's multifaceted fight against terrorist groups, specifically naming the PKK/KCK-PYD/YPG and FETO. Discussions centered on strategic efforts to permanently eradicate terrorism and reinforce national unity, aligning with the nation's "Terror-Free Türkiye" objective.

Diplomatic Engagement in Ukraine and Sudan

Beyond the Middle East, the council addressed the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, reiterating Türkiye's commitment to working with global partners to establish a just and lasting peace. It emphasized the critical importance of pursuing diplomatic solutions to de-escalate rising tensions. Regarding Sudan, the council voiced support for the African nation's sovereignty and territorial integrity, calling on all international actors, especially regional countries, to cooperate in ending the violence and mass atrocities.

Support for South Caucasus Peace Process

The council also reviewed the recent positive developments in the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Officials explored potential bilateral and regional cooperation opportunities arising from this diplomatic momentum. The statement concluded by reaffirming Türkiye's steadfast will to help establish enduring peace, stability, and development throughout the South Caucasus region.
