Türkiye dispatches fresh winter aid shipment to besieged Gaza

As freezing conditions deepen the suffering of displaced families in Gaza, the Turkish city of Melikgazi has sent new trucks loaded with blankets and bedding. The aid is delivered in cooperation with the Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH).
Türkiye continues to extend its humanitarian lifeline to Gaza as winter intensifies the hardship faced by hundreds of thousands of displaced Palestinians. The latest shipment of relief supplies departed from the central Anatolian province of Kayseri, organized by the Melikgazi Municipality in partnership with the Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH).
Essential supplies for families in need
The convoy carries critical winter materials, including blankets, quilts, and beds, destined for families enduring frigid conditions in tents and bombed-out shelters. According to UN reports, over one million people in Gaza—nearly half the population—remain in urgent need of shelter assistance. Severe winter weather has compounded the already catastrophic humanitarian situation, leaving vulnerable communities exposed to the elements with inadequate protection.
Türkiye's sustained humanitarian commitment
The IHH continues to play a pivotal role in delivering aid to the blockaded enclave. In 2025 alone, the foundation dispatched 77 trucks carrying food, water, medicine, and other essential supplies to Gaza. Through its collaboration with the World Food Programme (WFP), the organization distributed 28.7 million portions of hot meals over the same period. These efforts underscore Türkiye's consistent and principled stance in support of the Palestinian people.
Prayers accompany the convoy
As the trucks departed, officials and volunteers offered prayers for the safe arrival of the aid and for the resilience of Gaza's population. Melikgazi Municipality reaffirmed its determination to continue supporting those affected by the ongoing humanitarian crisis. With no end in sight to the blockade and destruction, such initiatives represent a vital source of hope and solidarity for a population struggling to survive.
