Türkiye, Lebanon explore expanded oil, gas cooperation

Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar hosted Lebanese Energy and Water Minister Joseph Saddi in Istanbul for comprehensive talks on strengthening electricity, oil and natural gas interconnections between the two countries and expanding bilateral energy cooperation.

Bayraktar said in a post on the social media platform X that he met with Saddi and his accompanying delegation at the ministry headquarters, noting that the discussions covered potential cooperation projects in the oil and natural gas sectors.

Technical Cooperation Framework

"Türkiye is ready to share its experience, knowledge and capabilities in the energy sector with Lebanon and further strengthen energy cooperation between our countries through projects we will develop on the basis of mutual benefit," the Turkish minister stated, emphasizing Ankara's commitment to supporting Beirut's energy infrastructure development.

The meeting examined practical steps to enhance cross-border energy links and integrate Lebanon into broader regional supply networks as the country seeks to diversify its electricity sources, according to Anadolu Agency.
