Türkiye's MKK opens data platform to global investors in English

Türkiye's Central Securities Depository (MKK) has expanded its Data Analysis Platform to English-language users in a move designed to deepen international investor access to the country's capital markets, Chief Executive Ekrem Arikan said on Wednesday.

Comprehensive market data

Launched in 2020 under the motto "From data to information, from information to strategy," the VAP platform aggregates datasets spanning investor demographics, portfolio compositions, custody records and corporate governance metrics, alongside financial ratios and market indices. The system operates in tandem with the Public Disclosure Platform, known as KAP, which publishes regulatory filings in real time without intermediaries, providing comprehensive market transparency from a single source with analytical capabilities that MKK noted stand out as globally distinctive.

Executive commitment to transparency

Arikan described VAP as one of the most valuable digital resources for transparency in Türkiye's capital markets. "The Data Analysis Platform, which we have been working on meticulously since day one and made available to our market stakeholders with the understanding that 'you cannot manage what you do not measure,' has become one of the most valuable digital resources of our capital markets regarding transparency and access to accurate information," he said.

He noted that the English option would place international investors on equal footing with domestic counterparts in accessing reliable data. "Foreign investors, fund managers and analysts who invest or plan to invest in the Turkish market will be able to access up-to-date data on our country's markets firsthand, quickly and reliably through our VAP and KAP platforms," Arikan added, stating that the expansion reflects MKK's broader strategy to extend its international service network and promote Türkiye's financial infrastructure as a reliable global hub.
