Türkiye sees over 11,000 new companies established in January

Union of Chambers data shows 11,115 new firms launched, down 4.7% annually, while liquidations fell 12.6% year-over-year. Companies with foreign partners totaled 818, led by Syrian, Turkish-German partnerships.
More than 11,000 new companies were established in Türkiye during January 2026, according to data released Friday by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB). The figures show a 4.7% annual decline from 11,035 companies launched in January 2025.
Liquidations and Monthly Trends
The number of liquidated companies in January stood at 2,458, marking a 12.6% decrease year-over-year from 2,812. On a monthly basis, newly established companies fell 13.1% from 12,793 in December 2025, while liquidations dropped sharply by 55.8% from 5,563 in the previous month.
Foreign Partner Participation
In January, 818 companies with foreign partners were established. The data shows Syrian partners participated in 400 of these firms, followed by 122 with Turkish partners, and 41 with partners from Germany. The figures reflect continued international business interest in Türkiye's market despite global economic headwinds.
