Türkiye sends 3 medical aid trucks to Iran amid regional crisis

Three trucks carrying medicine, medical devices and oxygen tanks from Türkiye crossed into Iran via the Gürbulak border gate. The shipment, coordinated by Van health authorities, departed from Van and arrived at the border after a five‑hour journey, following official procedures.
Türkiye delivered a substantial medical aid shipment to Iran on Wednesday, as three trucks loaded with critical supplies passed through the Gürbulak Border Gate in eastern Ağrı province. The consignment included medicines, serum, consumables, medical equipment, stretchers and oxygen tanks, collected primarily from health institutions in Van and coordinated by the Van Provincial Health Directorate.
Humanitarian gesture amid ongoing hostilities
The trucks departed from Van and reached the Gürbulak crossing in the Doğubayazıt district after approximately five hours. Following the completion of all official procedures, the vehicles crossed into Iranian territory. The delivery comes at a time of heightened regional tension following a two‑week ceasefire agreed between Washington and Tehran after weeks of intense conflict that began on February 28.
Türkiye’s continued humanitarian role
Ankara has consistently positioned itself as a humanitarian actor even during periods of regional strife. The aid shipment underscores Türkiye’s commitment to providing medical support to neighbouring countries in need, irrespective of political circumstances. The Van health authorities’ rapid coordination ensured that essential supplies reached Iran promptly, reflecting the efficiency of Türkiye’s disaster and emergency response mechanisms.
