Türkiye sets $60B, then $100B trade goals with Turkic world

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced ambitious economic targets for trade among Turkic states, aiming for $60 billion in the medium term and $100 billion long-term. He framed this within a broader vision of integration through energy, logistics, and cultural ties.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has outlined ambitious trade objectives for Türkiye's economic engagement with Turkic states, targeting $60 billion in the medium term and a long-term goal of $100 billion. The announcement was made on Monday during the launch of his Justice and Development (AK) Party's "Turkic World Vision Document" in Ankara.
A Blueprint for Economic Integration
Erdoğan positioned these trade volume targets as part of a comprehensive strategy to elevate the bloc's global economic standing. "The integration of energy corridors, logistics lines, and digital infrastructure projects will transform the Turkic world into a rising economic powerhouse on a global scale," he stated. The vision document proposes concrete steps to deepen connectivity and mutual investment across the region.
Cultural and Security Dimensions
Beyond economics, the plan emphasizes strengthening cultural and security bonds. President Erdoğan highlighted the role of shared language, history, and youth exchange programs in ensuring the continuity of relations for future generations. On security, he noted the document offers a detailed approach to regional peace, stressing collective action. "The will to act together against various threats, especially in the fight against terrorism, concretizes the solidarity among Turkic states," Erdoğan said.
Timing with World Turkic Language Family Day
The launch coincided with World Turkic Language Family Day, recognized by UNESCO on December 15. Erdoğan used the occasion to extend congratulations to Turkic communities worldwide, underscoring the cultural foundation of the proposed political and economic integration. This timing reinforces the message that the vision is built upon a shared heritage, with the newly recognized day serving as a symbol of common identity and documentary heritage.
