Israelis can't handle power

American Islamic scholar, Hamza Yusuf, criticized Israeli use of political power, saying it demonstrates a failure to uphold religious and moral responsibility.

He said Muslim rulers historically governed the region more justly, pointing to the Ottoman preservation of Christian sites. Yusuf referenced the Church of the Holy Sepulchre as an example of protected religious heritage.

He also cited historical accounts that Caliph Omar declined to pray inside, fearing that future Muslim rulers might use his actions as justification to convert the church into a mosque.
