Pakistan celebrates Turkish Republic Day

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the profound and historic ties between Pakistan and Türkiye during a ceremony at the Turkish Embassy in Islamabad marking the 102nd anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye. Noting that Turkish flags were displayed across Pakistan, Sharif affirmed that the two nations' hearts "beat together" in solidarity and mutual respect.

Sharif honored the legacy of Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, founder of the Turkish Republic, and praised Türkiye’s developmental journey under both Atatürk and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, whom he described as “a leading light of progress, development, and resilience.” The event was attended by ministers, senior officials, diplomats, and members of the Turkish community, with major buildings in Islamabad illuminated in tribute to Türkiye.
