Fresh airstrikes and artillery fire hit multiple towns as civilian casualties mount, with Beirut reporting women and children among the injured.
At least four Lebanese civilians were killed and 51 others wounded on Monday after Israeli warplanes and artillery targeted several locations in southern Lebanon, according to the country’s Health Ministry. Officials confirmed that one woman died in the attacks, while three children and six women are among the injured.
Multiple towns hit by airstrikes and shelling
Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) reported that Israeli jets struck the Tyre district town of Majdal Zoun. In addition, the army carried out demolition operations in Hanin and a large-scale blast in Chihine. Airstrikes also hit the towns of Hadatha, Braachit and Haris, while the Alman - Ech Choumariye area in Nabatieh district came under repeated artillery shelling. Another strike targeted the zone between Qana and Siddiqine.
Ceasefire violations mount
Official Lebanese figures show that since March 2, Israeli attacks across Lebanon have killed more than 2,520 people, wounded over 7,800, and displaced roughly 1.6 million. A 10-day truce declared on April 17 has been repeatedly breached by Tel Aviv. On Thursday, US President Donald Trump announced a three-week extension following talks in Washington. Hezbollah has carried out drone strikes against Israeli soldiers in response to what it calls repeated Israeli violations of the ceasefire.
