Iran says messages with US continue, to host Pakistani delegation

Iran announced that message exchanges with the United States are ongoing through Pakistani mediators, with a high-level Pakistani delegation expected to visit Tehran. The foreign ministry spokesperson also indicated that uranium enrichment levels and types are open for discussion.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei confirmed on Wednesday that Tehran continues to exchange messages with Washington via Pakistani intermediaries. Speaking at a news briefing cited by state news agency IRNA, Baghaei said: “Message exchanges continue” regarding negotiations with the US. He added that multiple messages have been exchanged since the Iranian delegation returned from Islamabad on Sunday.
Pakistani delegation expected in Tehran
Baghaei stated that Iran is likely to host a Pakistani delegation on Wednesday or Thursday, following talks the Pakistani side held with the United States. “Our positions have been conveyed and heard,” he said. The spokesperson noted that discussions on the nuclear file are not new, adding: “There is room for discussion on the type and level of enrichment. The Islamic Republic of Iran must be able to continue enrichment based on its national needs.”
Talks ongoing after Islamabad impasse
The US and Iran held rare direct talks in Pakistan over the weekend aimed at ending their conflict, but the negotiations concluded early Sunday without an agreement. Despite the lack of a breakthrough, both sides continue to communicate through Pakistani mediators. Pakistan brokered a two-week ceasefire on April 8, which remains in effect as diplomatic efforts persist.
