Iran warns of ‘memorable lesson’ after Trump rejection

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf has declared that Iran’s armed forces are ready to deliver a “memorable lesson” to any aggression, following US President Donald Trump’s rejection of Tehran’s latest proposal to end the war. Qalibaf said opponents “will be surprised.”
Iran’s top parliamentary official has issued a stark warning to the United States after President Trump dismissed Tehran’s latest peace overture as “totally unacceptable.” Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf wrote on X: “Our armed forces are ready to give a memorable lesson to any aggression. Wrong strategies and wrong decisions always produce wrong results. The whole world has already understood this.”
‘All options’ on the table
Qalibaf added that Iran is prepared for “all options,” claiming that opponents “will be surprised.” The warning came after Trump rejected Iran’s counterproposal, which reportedly focused on ending the war, lifting sanctions, and restoring maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has consistently linked any ceasefire to a full lifting of economic sanctions and recognition of its sovereign rights over the strategic waterway.
War and fragile truce
The US and Israel launched strikes against Iran on February 28, triggering Iranian retaliation and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. A Pakistani-mediated ceasefire took effect on April 8 but failed to produce a lasting agreement. Trump later extended the truce without a deadline.
