Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will travel to Switzerland on Saturday evening to lead negotiations with the United States regarding implementation of commitments under a recently signed memorandum of understanding, according to Iranian media reports.

High-level delegation

Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will lead a delegation to Switzerland on Saturday evening for talks with the United States on implementing commitments under a recently signed memorandum of understanding, a source close to the negotiating team told Fars News Agency. The delegation includes specialized committees similar to those that participated in previous rounds of negotiations between Tehran and Washington.

Economic and security officials

Abdolnasser Hemmati, governor of the Central Bank of Iran, is leading the economic committee within the delegation, the source said. Ali Bagheri Kani, deputy secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, is also accompanying the team to the talks.

Departure confirmed

Earlier on Saturday, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei confirmed that the delegation would travel to Switzerland "within the next few hours," the ISNA news agency reported. The talks are expected to address the implementation phase of the memorandum, though specific details of the commitments under discussion were not immediately disclosed.
