Security screening delays squad
The incident occurred as the Iraqi national team arrived at the airport in Chicago for pre-tournament preparations. While the remainder of the squad cleared immigration procedures without incident, Hussein was singled out for additional verification and security screening, according to the reports.
Members of the Iraqi delegation coordinated with airport authorities to resolve the matter, but the squad proceeded to its base without the striker. Following seven hours of administrative procedures, Hussein was released and subsequently rejoined his teammates, sources said.
