Israeli airstrikes and demolitions continue in Gaza despite truce

Aid organizations operating in the city of Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip, distribute hot meals to displaced civilians living in difficult conditions on November 25, 2025. Due to population density and the deepening humanitarian crisis, hundreds of Palestinians were forced to wait in long queues to receive a meal.

Israeli military operations have persisted across the Gaza Strip despite an announced ceasefire, with new airstrikes reported in both northern and southern regions. Witnesses described attacks on residential areas in Gaza City and Khan Younis, along with ongoing home demolitions. The continued violence has resulted in significant Palestinian casualties since the truce began.

Israeli forces conducted airstrikes and demolition operations in multiple areas of the Gaza Strip on Thursday, continuing military activities despite a ceasefire agreement currently in effect. Witnesses reported attacks in Gaza City's Al-Tuffah neighborhood and in Bani Suhaila east of Khan Younis, with explosions reverberating through residential districts.

Targeted Areas and Military Tactics

The Al-Tuffah neighborhood falls within what Israel designates as a "yellow zone" under its security control, where Palestinian access is severely restricted. These areas have experienced daily Israeli strikes for weeks, targeting residential buildings despite the truce. In addition to airstrikes, witnesses reported intensive gunfire from Israeli helicopters and military machinery operating in these regions.

Mounting Casualties Since Ceasefire

According to Gaza's Health Ministry, Israeli military actions have killed at least 347 Palestinians and injured approximately 900 others since the ceasefire period began. The ongoing violence occurs within the context of a much larger war that has devastated the coastal enclave over the past two years, with massive destruction throughout Gaza.

The Broader War Context

The current incidents form part of the continuing military operations that have persisted since October 2023. The wider war has resulted in nearly 70,000 Palestinian deaths, predominantly women and children, with over 170,900 injured according to health authorities. Much of Gaza remains in ruins following the extensive military campaign.
