Israeli army seizes over 40 vessels from Gaza-bound flotilla, detains 300 activists

The army also detained around 300 activists, Israeli news website Walla reported. Walla added that the Israeli navy had not yet intercepted all the flotilla vessels and that several boats remained in the open sea.
Flotilla attack
The Israeli army launched the attack on the Gaza-bound Global Sumud humanitarian flotilla in international waters on Monday. The flotilla, which set sail from Türkiye, was carrying humanitarian aid and activists seeking to break Israel's 17-year blockade of Gaza.
International condemnation
Ten countries, including Türkiye, Pakistan, and Spain, condemned Israel's attacks on the flotilla, calling them a violation of international law. Activists aboard the vessels reported being subjected to violence during the interception.

Previous incidents
Israeli forces previously intercepted a Gaza-bound flotilla in April, detaining more than 170 activists. Two activists were held for several days before being released and deported.
