Israeli forces strike Rafah, raid Gaza camp amid ceasefire violations

Trucks loaded with shelter tents, food parcels, flour, fuel and gas, as well as construction equipment to be used in debris removal work, are passing through the Rafah Border Crossing and heading towards Gaza under the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas on October 26, 2025 in Rafah, Egypt.

Israeli military operations have resumed in Gaza, targeting Rafah with airstrikes and shelling while ground forces re-entered the Jabalia refugee camp. These actions, reported by local sources, breach the standing ceasefire agreement, adding to hundreds of alleged violations since the truce began.

The Israeli military conducted new strikes in southern Gaza and redeployed forces into a central refugee camp early Monday, in actions that contravene the current ceasefire accord. According to reports from local sources within the Gaza Strip, the operations targeted multiple areas.

Rafah under fire

In the southern city of Rafah, Israeli warplanes carried out aerial bombardments, accompanied by artillery shelling and gunfire from military vehicles positioned in the city's northern sections. The simultaneous assaults marked a significant escalation in the region.

Incursion into Jabalia camp

Further north, Israeli armored vehicles and bulldozers moved back into the Jabalia refugee camp, an area from which forces had previously withdrawn under the ceasefire terms. Sources described quadcopter drones providing heavy covering fire as forces bulldozed structures before pulling out.

Ongoing violations and casualty toll

In Gaza City, Israeli troops fired from controlled zones into eastern residential neighborhoods. While no immediate casualties were reported from Monday's incidents, these events contribute to a pattern of reported breaches. Since the October 10 ceasefire began, Palestinian sources claim the Israeli army has committed hundreds of violations, resulting in 401 fatalities. The overall death toll from the conflict since October 2023 stands at nearly 71,000 Palestinians, with over 171,000 injured.
