Israeli strike injures four in Gaza despite ongoing ceasefire

An Israeli airstrike wounded four Palestinians in central Gaza on Saturday, despite an active ceasefire agreement. The attack targeted a vehicle in the Nuseirat refugee camp, with Israel claiming it struck an Islamic Jihad member.
Four Palestinians sustained injuries on Saturday when an Israeli airstrike hit a civilian vehicle in central Gaza, marking another violation of the current ceasefire agreement. The attack occurred in the Nuseirat refugee camp, raising concerns about the durability of the truce that has been in effect since early October.
Hospital Confirms Casualties
Al-Awda Hospital officials confirmed receiving four injured individuals following the strike near the Al-Ahli Club in Nuseirat. The medical facility reported treating moderate to serious wounds from the attack that targeted a moving vehicle in the densely populated refugee camp.
Israeli Military Justification
The Israeli army acknowledged conducting the strike, claiming it targeted a member of the Islamic Jihad movement. Notably, the attack occurred within what local sources describe as the "yellow line" - areas from which Israeli forces had previously withdrawn under the terms of the October 10 ceasefire agreement brokered through US mediation.
Ceasefire Violation Patterns
According to Gaza's government media office, Israeli forces have killed 97 Palestinians and injured numerous others since the ceasefire theoretically took effect. The ongoing violence continues despite the agreement that includes hostage-prisoner exchanges and plans for Gaza's reconstruction. The conflict has resulted in over 68,500 fatalities and 170,300 injuries since October 2023, according to Health Ministry figures.
