The Kremlin announced Thursday that Tehran has not sought any military or other assistance from Moscow, despite the ongoing US-Israeli offensive that has killed over 900 Iranians including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Russia condemned the strikes as "armed aggression" aimed at overthrowing Iran's legitimate government.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed Thursday that Russia has received no requests for assistance from Iran, including military support, as the US-Israeli campaign against the Islamic Republic enters its fifth day. Responding to questions about potential Russian arms supplies, Peskov stated flatly: "In this case, there were no appeals from the Iranian side."

Moscow's Condemnation

The Russian Foreign Ministry issued a statement Thursday denouncing the strikes on Iran as "an act of armed aggression" and an attempt to "overthrow the legitimate government in Iran." Moscow expressed regret that Iran had been "deliberately provoked" into retaliatory strikes against targets in several Arab countries, warning that the only way to prevent further destabilization is "to end the US and Israeli aggression, which has triggered a chain reaction of suffering for Arabs."

Call for Ceasefire

Reaffirming Moscow's position, the statement declared that "attacks on civilians and on any civilian objects" in both Iran and Gulf countries are "completely unacceptable." Russia reiterated its call for all parties to immediately cease hostilities, as the death toll from Saturday's initial strikes continues to mount, with Tehran responding through drone and missile attacks targeting Israel and Gulf states hosting US military assets. The conflict has now expanded to include Iranian retaliation, Gulf state interceptions, and significant disruption to global energy markets and shipping lanes.
