Kuwait Airways suspends all flights indefinitely after Iranian drone attack

Kuwait Airways announced the suspension of all operations “until further notice” following Iranian drone attacks that damaged Kuwait International Airport and injured several people. The national carrier said affected flights would be rescheduled. The IRGC said the attack targeted US bases in Kuwait in response to a US strike on Qeshm Island.
Kuwait Airways announced on Wednesday that it was suspending all flights “until further notice” after Iranian drone attacks disrupted operations at Kuwait International Airport. In a statement cited by Kuwait’s Al Anba newspaper, the national carrier said the decision was made due to “current circumstances” and in coordination with civil aviation authorities. The airline said affected flights would be rescheduled, and passengers would be notified of new departure times through their booking contact details.
Attack on airport
The suspension followed a Defense Ministry announcement that Kuwait International Airport had been hit by Iranian drones, causing significant damage to the main passenger terminal and injuring several people. Kuwaiti authorities halted and diverted flights indefinitely. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated that attacks on US bases in Kuwait were launched in response to a US strike on Qeshm Island in southern Iran earlier Wednesday. The IRGC did not explicitly confirm targeting the airport, but Kuwaiti officials described the drones as hostile.
