A majority of Israelis believe the country has not achieved victory in any war since Oct. 7, 2023, according to a poll by Israel's public broadcaster KAN. Confidence in victory across individual fronts remained low, with only 14% expressing confidence in Lebanon and 16% regarding Gaza and Iran.
A majority of Israelis believe the country has not achieved victory in any war since Oct. 7, 2023, according to a poll published Tuesday by Israel's public broadcaster KAN. The survey found that 57% of respondents think Israel has not won on any front since that date, while 28% said it had achieved victory in at least one arena, and 15% said they did not know.
Low confidence across fronts
Since Oct. 7, 2023, Israel has waged wars in Gaza, Lebanon, and Iran, as well as carrying out attacks in Yemen and Syria and military operations in the occupied West Bank. According to the broadcaster, confidence in victory across individual fronts remained low. Only 17% believed Israel had achieved success in Syria, dropping to 16% regarding Gaza and Iran. On the Lebanese front, just 14% expressed confidence in victory, falling further to 12% in Yemen and 11% in the West Bank.
Security concerns
On future security concerns, 73% of respondents said the continued armed presence of Hamas and Hezbollah poses a direct threat of a repeat of an Oct. 7-style event. Only 10% dismissed that possibility, while 17% said they were uncertain.

Netanyahu pardon
On political and legal issues, 56% of respondents supported US President Donald Trump's pressure on Israeli President Isaac Herzog to grant a pardon to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in his corruption trial. On Nov. 30, Netanyahu requested a presidential pardon without admitting guilt. Under Israeli law, a pardon cannot be granted without an admission of guilt.
ICC warrant
Netanyahu faces charges of corruption, bribery, and breach of trust, with his trial ongoing since 2020. He has also been wanted since 2024 by the International Criminal Court for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza, where more than 72,000 people have been killed since October 2023.
