Meta acquires AI startup Manus in deal reportedly valued over $2 billion

Meta announced on Tuesday the acquisition of artificial intelligence startup Manus, a Chinese-founded company that later moved to Singapore, as part of its continued heavy investment in AI technology. In a statement, Meta said the move is intended to advance AI innovation and bring sophisticated automation to its consumer and business solutions, including the Meta AI assistant.

Though Meta did not disclose financial terms, The Wall Street Journal reported—citing sources familiar with the transaction—that the deal is valued at more than $2 billion. Meta stated it plans to “scale this service to many more businesses” and integrate Manus’s agent capabilities across its ecosystem, potentially reaching billions of users.
