Michigan Senate candidate condemns Iran war spending
Egyptian-American physician and politician Dr. Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed has criticized U.S. foreign policy spending, stating that significant financial resources are being directed toward overseas conflicts rather than domestic needs. Referring to a recent conflict involving Iran, he said, "We spent $25 billion on a war in Iran, a war no one in the United States asked for."
El-Sayed argued that such expenditures could instead address pressing issues within the country, including the burden of medical debt faced by many Americans. As the Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate from Michigan, he emphasized the need to prioritize healthcare and economic relief over military engagement abroad.
