Musk elaborated that in this future scenario, work would become a choice rather than a necessity. "My prediction is that work will be optional," he stated. "It'll be like playing sports or a video game ... you can go to the store and buy vegetables, or you can grow them in your backyard. It's much harder, but some people still do it because they like growing vegetables. That will be what work is like — optional." The Tesla and SpaceX CEO suggested society should prepare for these structural changes as technology continues to advance.
Major Saudi Data Center Announcement
During the same forum, Musk revealed that his artificial intelligence company xAI will partner with Saudi state-backed firm Humain to construct a massive data center in the kingdom. The facility, developed in collaboration with chipmaker Nvidia, will be powered by up to 500 megawatts of electricity, making it xAI's largest data center outside the United States. The project was included in a broader package of military and technology agreements announced during Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's visit to Washington.
