Netanyahu says Israel will resume Gaza genocide alone

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, wanted by the ICC for genocide in Gaza, announced that Israel may be forced to act alone to disarm Hamas, as forming an international coalition is “not realistic.” Israeli strikes continue to kill Palestinians despite a fragile ceasefire.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who faces an International Criminal Court arrest warrant for genocide committed in Gaza since October 2023, signaled on Monday that Israel is preparing to resume large-scale military operations. In an interview with I24 News, Netanyahu stated that forming an international coalition to disarm Hamas is difficult, suggesting that Tel Aviv “will have to do it alone.”
Coalition efforts fail
Netanyahu noted that US President Donald Trump failed to build an international coalition to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, arguing that a coalition to disarm Hamas is “even less realistic” than that effort. Following a February 11 meeting between Trump and Netanyahu at the White House, the two had reportedly agreed to give Hamas 60 days to disarm. That deadline has now passed without progress.
Ceasefire violations and rising death toll
Despite a ceasefire signed in October 2025, Israeli forces continue to attack Palestinian civilians in Gaza. According to WAFA, an Israeli drone struck near Al-Mazra School in Deir al-Balah, killing three Palestinians and wounding several others. Since the October 2025 ceasefire, Israeli attacks have killed 750 people and wounded 2,090. Since October 2023, 72,329 Palestinians have been killed and 172,192 wounded in Gaza.

Netanyahu’s trial delayed
Separately, an Israeli court has once again postponed Netanyahu’s corruption trial, citing “security and political reasons” related to recent events in Israel and the Middle East. The court conditionally approved a two-week delay but requested a new application for future postponements.
