Newly released Epstein emails reveal Elon Musk, Bill Gates, other tech leaders had contact with financier

Thousands of emails and documents released by the U.S. Justice Department show several high-profile tech figures, including Elon Musk and Bill Gates, had correspondence with Jeffrey Epstein. The files include discussions of island visits, pandemic simulations, and private meetings.
The U.S. Justice Department’s release of thousands of documents related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein has revealed previously undisclosed interactions between the late financier and several prominent tech leaders, including Elon Musk and Bill Gates. The files, part of the Epstein Library, show email exchanges discussing potential visits to Epstein’s private islands, pandemic simulation projects, and social gatherings.
Elon Musk’s Correspondence and Denials
Emails from December 2013 show Elon Musk discussing a potential visit to Epstein’s islands in the Caribbean during the holidays. Epstein suggested dates and offered to “come and get you,” though the trip appears not to have taken place after Epstein cited scheduling conflicts. Musk later denied ever visiting Epstein’s properties, stating on social media that he “refused” such invitations and has advocated for full transparency in the case. His estranged daughter Vivian Jenna Wilson corroborated the authenticity of the emails, recalling the family was in St. Barth’s at the time mentioned.
Musk–Hoffman Feud Over Island Visits
The documents fueled a public dispute between Musk and LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman. Musk accused Hoffman of visiting Epstein’s island, attaching an email where Epstein mentioned Hoffman had been there. Hoffman countered by accusing Musk of seeking to attend Epstein’s “wildest parties,” referencing a 2012 email in which Musk asked about the “wildest party on your island.”
Bill Gates and Pandemic Simulation Discussions
The files also include emails between Epstein and Bill Gates, including references to a “pandemic simulation” project under Gates’ former think tank bgC3. While some emails contained unverified personal allegations—which Gates’ spokesperson called “absolutely absurd and completely false”—they reveal Gates forwarded confidential project outlines to Epstein, touching on biological defense and neurotechnology.
Other Tech Figures Mentioned
Google co-founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page were linked to Epstein through financial introductions to JPMorgan Chase. Richard Branson exchanged casual emails with Epstein, including a reference to Epstein bringing his “harem.” An email also placed Jeff Bezos at a gathering at Ghislaine Maxwell’s home alongside Bill Clinton.
Epstein was found dead in his prison cell in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. The newly released correspondence illustrates the breadth of his network among global elites in technology, finance, and politics.
