Pakistan, Egypt urge restraint as Mideast conflict grows

Diplomatic talks in Islamabad
Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met with his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatty, who is on a two-day visit to Pakistan to participate in a quadrilateral foreign ministers' meeting focused on ongoing mediatory efforts to end the regional conflict. According to a statement from Pakistan's Foreign Ministry, the two ministers exchanged views on regional and international developments, particularly the situation in the Middle East, and underscored the need for resolving disputes through dialogue and diplomacy.
Pakistan reaffirms support for Palestinians
Dar reaffirmed Pakistan's unwavering support for the Palestinian people and strongly condemned the continued aggression by Israeli forces in Gaza and the West Bank. His remarks come as Israeli airstrikes continue to claim civilian lives despite a nominal ceasefire, with six Palestinians killed in Khan Younis early Sunday alone.

Egypt praised for Gaza relief efforts
The Pakistani foreign minister also expressed appreciation for Egypt's role in facilitating humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza, including support extended to Pakistan's own relief operations. Egypt has served as a key conduit for aid entering the besieged enclave and has been actively involved in regional mediation efforts alongside Türkiye, Pakistan, and other actors.
