Palestinian killed in Israeli drone strike in northern Gaza despite ceasefire

Medical sources said Eyad al-Motawwaq was killed and several others wounded on Saturday when an Israeli drone targeted a motorcycle west of Jabalia refugee camp, marking the latest violation of a ceasefire agreement that has already claimed hundreds of Palestinian lives across the besieged territory.
Drone strike kills Palestinian in Jabalia
A Palestinian man died on Saturday and multiple others sustained injuries when an Israeli drone struck a motorcycle west of the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza, according to medical sources and witnesses. The victim was identified as Eyad al-Motawwaq, while the strike occurred in an area lying outside the zones where Israeli forces are permitted to operate under the terms of the ceasefire agreement, witnesses told Anadolu. The location falls beyond the boundaries of Israeli military deployment zones established under the truce that took effect last October.
Artillery fire hits Gaza City
In a separate incident, Israeli artillery units intermittently shelled eastern areas of the Al-Tuffah neighborhood in Gaza City, witnesses reported. No casualties were immediately reported from the bombardment, which marked another breach of the fragile ceasefire agreement.
Death toll mounts despite truce
According to Gaza's Health Ministry, around 850 Palestinians have been killed and 2,433 others injured by Israeli fire since the ceasefire took effect. The ministry has documented repeated violations by the Israeli army as the truce enters its seventh month.

The agreement was reached after two years of war beginning in October 2023, which left more than 72,000 people dead and over 172,000 injured. Israeli forces have destroyed an estimated 90% of Gaza's civilian infrastructure during the campaign, which continued in various forms despite the formal cessation of hostilities.
