Putin to meet Xi in Beijing next week for strategic talks

The Kremlin stated that the leaders will review bilateral ties and discuss deepening comprehensive strategic cooperation, alongside key international and regional issues. They are expected to emphasize aligned positions on multilateral security frameworks during the talks.
Economic and ceremonial program
Putin and Xi plan to sign a joint statement and several bilateral agreements following the discussions. The Russian president will also meet Premier Li Qiang on economic cooperation and join Xi in inaugurating the Russia-China Years of Education for 2026-2027.

The visit follows Xi's trip to Moscow in March 2023 and Putin's attendance at the Belt and Road Forum in Beijing later that year. The Treaty of Good-Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation was signed in 2001.
