Qatar condemns Israeli violations of Gaza ceasefire in Shura Council address

Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has strongly condemned Israel's repeated violations of the Gaza ceasefire agreement during his opening address to the Shura Council. He described Israeli actions as violating all international laws and norms while calling for international accountability.
Qatar has issued a forceful condemnation of Israel's ongoing breaches of the Gaza ceasefire agreement during the opening session of the nation's Shura Council. Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani denounced the transformation of Gaza into an "uninhabitable zone" and reiterated Doha's position against continued Israeli violations despite the October 10 truce agreement.
Ceasefire Violations and Palestinian Territory
The Qatari leader emphasized that Gaza constitutes an integral component of Palestinian territories and a unified Palestinian state, rejecting its isolation from broader Palestinian lands. His statements referenced Gaza Health Ministry reports documenting at least 80 fatalities and 303 injuries caused by Israeli military actions since the ceasefire theoretically took effect earlier this month.
Broader Condemnation of Israeli Policies
Sheikh Tamim expanded his criticism to include Israel's settlement expansion in the West Bank and attempts to alter the character of Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa Mosque compound. He urged the international community to hold Israel accountable for its military campaign in Gaza and ensure civilian protection in the besieged coastal territory.
Doha Attack and International Response
The Emir specifically referenced Israel's September airstrikes on the Qatari capital targeting Hamas delegation members during ceasefire negotiations, characterizing this as "state terrorism" that violated diplomatic norms. He noted the global response had been sufficiently strong to "shock the perpetrators" of what Qatar considered an attack on a mediating country.
