Seven Palestinians were injured early Friday when an Israeli helicopter struck a residential building in central Gaza City without prior warning, medical sources said, adding that the wounded sustained moderate to serious injuries. The injured were transferred to multiple hospitals across the city, the sources noted.
Witnesses told Anadolu that the strike targeted commercial warehouses located beneath the Haraz building near Yarmouk Stadium. Gaza's Civil Defense Directorate said its crews extinguished a fire that broke out at the site and evacuated the injured, according to a separate statement.
Coastal and border attacks
In separate incidents overnight, Israeli naval forces opened machine-gun fire and shelled fishing boats along the coastline of Gaza City, local sources said.
Israeli artillery also shelled eastern areas of the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, accompanied by gunfire from military vehicles, though no casualties were immediately reported from the artillery barrage.
