Sisi warns of ‘deliberate attempts’ to redraw Middle East map

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi warned of “deliberate efforts” to redraw the map of the Middle East in a televised speech marking Sinai’s liberation anniversary. He called for full implementation of the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire deal, including unrestricted humanitarian aid and immediate reconstruction of the enclave.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi warned on Saturday that “deliberate efforts” are being made to redraw the map of the Middle East. Speaking in a televised address marking the 44th anniversary of Sinai’s liberation from Israeli occupation, Sisi stated: “The Middle East is going through critical circumstances amid deliberate efforts to redraw its map.”
Call for Gaza ceasefire implementation
Sisi called for the full implementation of the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire deal reached last October. The second phase includes the unhindered entry of humanitarian aid into the besieged Strip and the immediate launch of reconstruction efforts. Gaza was devastated during Israel’s two-year-long military campaign. The first phase of the truce involved exchanging Israeli hostages for Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails.
Rejection of Palestinian displacement
The Egyptian president also expressed Cairo’s categorical rejection of any attempts to displace Palestinians from their land. His remarks come as Gaza remains in ruins, with hundreds of thousands of residents living in makeshift shelters amid ongoing ceasefire violations. Egypt continues to play a key mediating role between Israel and Palestinian factions alongside Qatar and the United States.
