Fresh explosions have rocked Tehran and several other Iranian cities, including Isfahan, Tabriz, Shiraz, and Mashhad, amid ongoing US-Israeli airstrikes. An Anadolu reporter witnessed smoke rising from western parts of the capital. Iranian officials cut electricity on Isfahan's Kaveh Street as a security measure, marking the third such attack on that location.

New explosions shook Iran's capital, Tehran, on Saturday as smoke billowed from the western districts of the city, according to an Anadolu reporter on the ground. The blasts are the latest in an ongoing series of US-Israeli airstrikes that have targeted multiple locations across the country.

Isfahan hit for third time

The city of Isfahan also came under attack, with Kaveh Street specifically targeted. Iranian authorities confirmed that electricity on the street had been cut off as a security precaution and noted that this marked the third such strike on the same location. Explosions were also reported in Khuzestan province, as well as in the cities of Tabriz, Shiraz, and Mashhad, according to Iranian media.

Regional hostilities escalate

The wave of attacks comes as hostilities between Iran and the US-Israeli alliance have intensified dramatically since February 28, when Washington and Tel Aviv launched a joint air offensive against Tehran. The campaign has so far killed more than 1,340 people, including former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Iranian retaliation and wider impact

In response, Iran has launched multiple waves of drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, as well as Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf nations hosting US military assets. The retaliatory attacks have caused casualties, damaged infrastructure, and disrupted global markets and aviation, raising fears of a wider regional conflagration.
