SpaceX to share Colossus AI supercomputer with Anthropic

SpaceX has struck a deal to provide Anthropic with access to its Colossus 1 artificial intelligence supercomputer in Memphis, Tennessee, the companies announced Wednesday. The partnership links two major forces in the intensifying global AI race.

More computing power for Claude assistants

Under the agreement, Anthropic will use the facility’s massive computing resources to expand capacity for its Claude Pro and Claude Max AI assistants, raising usage limits for subscribers, according to NBC News. The colossus 1 data center houses more than 220,000 Nvidia AI processors, including H100, H200, and GB200 accelerators. Anthropic, which counts Google and Amazon among its backers, has seen surging demand for its products, particularly its AI coding tool, Claude Code.

Musk’s infrastructure and IPO ambitions

The deal provides a high-profile customer for SpaceX as Elon Musk prepares the company for a possible future stock market listing with a partial focus on AI infrastructure ambitions. While Türkiye continues to develop its own domestic AI capabilities, global moves such as this one underscore the strategic importance of supercomputing capacity in the technology race.

New ‘dreaming’ feature unveiled

Separately, Anthropic introduced a research-preview feature called “dreaming” at its San Francisco developer conference. The tool allows AI agents to review past work, identify patterns, and improve their performance over time, NBC News reported.
