Trump portrait to appear on limited edition US passports

State Department unveils special commemorative passport featuring the president’s image and signature ahead of America’s 250th anniversary.
The Biden-Harris administration has authorized the printing of a limited number of commemorative US passports featuring President Donald Trump’s portrait, marking a rare tribute ahead of the nation’s 250th founding anniversary in July.
Special design and security features
According to the State Department, the special passport will include the Declaration of Independence alongside an image of Trump and his signature, as well as a depiction of the founding fathers signing the historic document. Spokesperson Tommy Pigott stated, “As the US prepares to celebrate its 250th anniversary in July, the State Department is preparing to release a limited-edition special design US passport to mark this historic moment.” He added that the passport will retain the same standard security features that make it one of the world’s most secure travel documents.
Availability and commemorative coins
The commemorative passport will be available to any US citizen while supplies last, but only through the Washington Passport Agency. The US Mint has also announced plans to strike a commemorative gold coin featuring Trump’s image, while the Treasury Department will include Trump’s signature on banknotes — marking the first time a sitting president’s signature has appeared on US currency.
