Trump says he was ‘perturbed’ by Netanyahu’s ‘constantly fighting’ with Lebanon

President Trump told Pod Force One that he was “perturbed” by Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s stance of “constantly fighting” with Lebanon, and said he told Netanyahu “at some point … we gotta stop this.” Trump added that “if there wasn’t me, there would be no Israel right now,” citing Iran’s nuclear program.
US President Donald Trump revealed in an interview with Pod Force One uploaded on Wednesday that he was “perturbed” by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s approach of “constantly fighting” with Lebanon. Commenting on reports of a heated phone call with Netanyahu on Monday, Trump said he told the Israeli premier: “At some point … Bibi we gotta stop this.” Trump added: “I was a little bit perturbed at his constantly fighting with Lebanon,” but insisted that the two have a “very good relationship. We’ve worked very well together. I like Bibi (Netanyahu) a lot. And I work very well with him.”
Trump’s warning on Iran
Citing Iran’s nuclear program, Trump claimed that Israel would not exist without him. “Now that pertains Israel, because they probably would have been the first one to get hit, there would be no Israel … If there wasn’t me, there would be no Israel right now,” he said. The comments reflect growing US frustration with Israel’s ongoing military operations in Lebanon and Gaza, despite a US-mediated ceasefire. Trump has previously extended the Israel-Lebanon ceasefire and pushed for direct negotiations between the two countries.
