Trump says US made 'fortune' from Venezuela oil after operation

President Donald Trump said in a television interview that Washington carried out a rapid military operation against Caracas lasting under one hour, claiming the United States has since generated significant revenue from Venezuelan oil while describing Cuba as a failed nation that will eventually seek American help.
President Donald Trump told Fox News on Friday that the United States conducted a rapid military operation against Venezuela targeting former President Nicolas Maduro, claiming the intervention lasted less than one hour and has generated substantial oil revenues for Washington.
Rapid operation claim
Trump stated the operation concluded in "48 minutes and 13 seconds, and it was over," adding that Venezuela maintains a strong military but the confrontation ended quickly. "I built during my first four years the most powerful military in the world that was shown in Venezuela," he said in remarks following his recent visit to China. The president did not provide specific details regarding the timing or location of the alleged military action.
Oil revenues and Cuba remarks
Turning to economic matters, Trump claimed the United States has "made a fortune with their oil" since the operation, asserting that Caracas also earned more in the preceding eight months than in the previous decade. "By the way, we have made a fortune with their oil," he said, suggesting the arrangement has benefited both nations financially.

When asked about Cuba, Trump described the island as "a totally failed nation," predicting that Havana "are gonna have to come to us" eventually. Referring to the recently announced $100 million humanitarian aid offer for Cuba, he noted the country is accepting assistance because "they want aid" and "they need help."
