Trump warns Iranian ships near US blockade will be ‘immediately eliminated’

President Donald Trump declared that any Iranian vessels approaching the US blockade of Iranian ports “will be immediately eliminated.” He claimed that 158 Iranian ships have already been destroyed, leaving only small “fast attack ships” which he said are not considered a major threat.
President Donald Trump issued a stark warning Monday that any Iranian ships coming near the US blockade of Iranian ports “will be immediately eliminated.” Writing on Truth Social, Trump claimed: “Iran’s Navy is laying at the bottom of the sea, completely obliterated – 158 ships. What we have not hit are their small number of, what they call, ‘fast attack ships,’ because we did not consider them much of a threat.”
Threat of Force
Trump warned: “If any of these ships come anywhere close to our blockade, they will be immediately eliminated, using the same system of kill that we use against the drug dealers on boats at sea.” His warning came just after US Central Command began implementing a blockade of all maritime traffic entering and exiting Iranian ports. CENTCOM said the blockade would be enforced “impartially against vessels of all nations” calling at Iranian ports, but would not affect freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz to non‑Iranian ports.
Regional Fallout
The blockade announcement followed the collapse of rare direct US‑Iran talks in Islamabad over the weekend, after 21 hours of negotiations. Iran has condemned the blockade as “revenge against the global economy,” while Qatar has urged Tehran to re‑engage with Pakistan‑led mediation and reopen the strait.
