Türkiye extradites 10 fugitives wanted on Interpol notices

Türkiye has secured the extradition of 10 fugitives from multiple countries, including nine with Interpol red notices. The suspects face charges including murder, drug trafficking, and fraud following international cooperation with Russian, German, and other law enforcement agencies.
Türkiye has successfully repatriated 10 fugitives who were captured abroad through coordinated international law enforcement operations, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced Sunday. The group includes nine individuals subject to Interpol red notices and one wanted through national channels, marking a significant achievement in Türkiye's campaign against transnational crime.
International Cooperation Leads to Arrests
The arrests resulted from collaborative efforts between Türkiye's Interpol-Europol Department, the Justice Ministry, and multiple specialized police units. Working with law enforcement partners in several countries, Turkish authorities located and detained the suspects across multiple jurisdictions including Russia, Germany, Belgium, Bulgaria, and Georgia before securing their extradition.
Range of Serious Charges
The extradited individuals face prosecution for various serious offenses including intentional homicide, attempted murder, armed robbery, and large-scale drug trafficking operations. Additional charges include fraud schemes, illegal detention, and forgery of official documents. The cases represent some of the most serious criminal matters pursued by Turkish authorities in recent years.
Continued Fight Against Transnational Crime
Minister Yerlikaya emphasized that the successful extraditions demonstrate Türkiye's determined approach to combating organized criminal networks operating across international borders. The operations reflect strengthened cooperation between Turkish agencies and their international counterparts in tracking and apprehending suspects who attempt to evade justice by fleeing abroad.
