Türkiye's Anadolu Agency passes presidency of Turkic news alliance to Kazakhstan

The 2nd General Assembly of the Alliance of Turkic News Agencies (ATNA) convened in Astana, Kazakhstan, marking a significant step for media cooperation among Turkic nations. The meeting saw the symbolic handover of the alliance's presidency from Türkiye's Anadolu Agency to the host, Kazakhstan's state media company, Qazcontent.
Leadership Transition and Strategic Vision
Hosted by Qazcontent Chairperson Aina Zadabek, the assembly brought together senior officials from member agencies, including Anadolu's Deputy Director General Yusuf Ozhan. During the session, Ozhan formally passed the leadership role to Kazakhstan, highlighting the collaborative spirit of the organization. Zadabek acknowledged the responsibility, stating the alliance would now shift from institutional foundations to implementing concrete projects for the Turkic world.
Strengthening Institutional Ties
Representatives from member agencies, including Azerbaijan's AZERTAC and Uzbekistan's UzA, underscored the progress made under Anadolu's initial presidency. They emphasized that future efforts should be channeled into creating a consolidated news network. The assembly also welcomed Hungary's MTI news agency as an observer member, expanding the alliance's reach.
Future Roadmap and Digital Presence
Key outcomes from the Astana meeting included the launch of ATNA's official website, introduced by Anadolu's Bilgehan Ozturk, and the decision to extend the Secretary General's term. The participants agreed that the next general assembly will be held in Azerbaijan, continuing the momentum for strengthening the media bridge between Turkic states.
