Drone strike kills one, sparks fire at Russia's Temryuk port

A Ukrainian drone attack killed one person and triggered a fire at a sea terminal in Russia's Temryuk port overnight, the regional governor said Saturday, adding that three others were injured as emergency crews worked to extinguish the blaze amid a broader wave of aerial attacks.
A Ukrainian drone attack killed one person and sparked a fire at Russia's Temryuk port overnight, regional Governor Veniamin Kondratyev said Saturday, as emergency crews worked to extinguish the blaze at the southern sea terminal.
"Emergency and special services continue to work at the scene," Kondratyev wrote on Telegram, adding that three people were injured in the strikes. The governor gave no further details on the extent of the damage or the identities of the victims.
Overnight aerial barrage
Falling drone debris also ignited a fire at industrial infrastructure in Russia's Volgograd region, Governor Andrei Bocharov said via Telegram. Russia's Defense Ministry reported that its air defenses intercepted 177 Ukrainian drones during the overnight attacks across the country.
Verification challenges
Kyiv has not commented on the strikes. Independent verification of the claims remains difficult due to the ongoing war, with both sides routinely restricting access to conflict zones and battlefield information.
