US-Israeli airstrike targets Kashan Airport in central Iran

Isfahan’s deputy governor confirms the airport was hit along with several other cities in the province, as hostilities between Iran and the US-Israel alliance continue.
Kashan Airport in Iran’s Isfahan province was struck in a US-Israeli airstrike, according to Akbar Salehi, the province’s deputy governor. Speaking to Iran’s official news agency IRNA, Salehi confirmed that the attack targeted the airport as well as several other cities across the province, including Shahreza, Aran, Bidgol, and Najafabad.
Strikes widen across Isfahan province
The latest strikes mark an expansion of US-Israeli operations into central Iran, adding to a series of attacks that have targeted military and industrial sites since the conflict began. Kashan Airport, located approximately 200 kilometers north of Isfahan city, serves both civilian and military purposes.
Hostilities continue into second month
The strikes come as the US and Israel continue their military campaign against Iran, which began Feb. 28. Iranian authorities report that thousands have been killed or wounded since the onset of hostilities. Tehran has responded with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, as well as US bases and interests in neighboring countries, including Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf states.
