US-Israeli airstrikes hit Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces positions

The official Iraqi security umbrella group reports multiple strikes across central and western Iraq, though no casualties have been recorded in the overnight attacks.
Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), a state-sanctioned security entity, announced early Tuesday that its positions came under fire from US-Israeli airstrikes. According to a statement from the group, three separate strikes targeted Brigade 45 in the Jurf al-Nasr district of central Iraq, while a fourth hit Brigade 31 in the Karma sector of western Anbar province.
No casualties reported in overnight strikes
The PMF confirmed that no personnel were killed or injured in the attacks. The force, originally established in 2014 under a religious edict from Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani to combat the ISIS (Daesh) terrorist group, has since been formally integrated into Iraq’s armed forces through a government decision in 2016.
Escalation widens across Iraqi territory
The strikes come amid widening regional hostilities following the US-Israeli military campaign against Iran that began Feb. 28. Iraq, which hosts both US military assets and Iranian-aligned factions, has increasingly found itself caught in the crossfire as retaliatory strikes and cross-border operations intensify. The incident marks the latest in a series of aerial attacks targeting PMF positions since the escalation began.
