US-Israeli strikes hit major Iranian steel plants in Isfahan, Ahvaz

Aerial attacks target Mobarakeh Steel and Khuzestan Steel for the second time since March 27, with emergency crews dispatched to the sites.
US and Israeli warplanes carried out strikes Tuesday on two of Iran’s largest steel production facilities, targeting the Mobarakeh Steel Company in Isfahan and the Khuzestan Steel Company in Ahvaz, according to Iran’s Tasnim News Agency. The aerial attacks occurred around 1930 GMT, with Iranian media describing the facilities as among the country’s most strategic industrial assets.
Second strikes on steel facilities within days
Later the same day, a second wave of strikes hit the Mobarakeh facility, marking the second time it has been targeted since March 27, local residents told Tasnim. Emergency units were deployed to both locations, though no official information was immediately available regarding the extent of damage or potential casualties.
Previous attack claimed one life
The latest bombardments follow an earlier strike on the same steel plants last week. In that March 27 attack, one person was killed and 15 others injured in Isfahan, according to Iran’s state broadcaster IRIB, citing provincial governor Mehdi Jamalinejad. The repeated targeting of critical industrial infrastructure underscores the intensifying military campaign against Iran’s economic assets.
